Franco Bompieri was born in Volta Mantovana in 1934 and arrived in Milan in 1949. He is the owner of Antica Barbieria Colla, one of the oldest and most prestigious hair salons and barber shops in the city, in Via Morone 3.

Over the years, a lot of famous people have been in his shop, a sort of British club, where people often discussed about politics and literature.
